To reduce puffiness and sagging under the eyes of patients, Dr. Toohey can remove excess skin and fat. To restore a youthful, rested appearance to the eyelid, an incision can be made in the crease above the eye. Once excess skin has been removed, the eyelid will also be tighter and smoother, keeping it well clear of the field of vision.

In rare cases in which drooping eyelids are the cause of significant loss of vision, eyelid surgery may be covered by health insurance, but only if prescribed by an ophthalmologist.
