How Does Restylane® Work?

What is the Procedure for Restylane®?

Restylane® is an injectable dermal filler that is administered under your skin with a very fine needle.  Dr. Toohey may apply a topical anesthesia to the treatment area to help you remain comfortable.  Restylane® does not require any downtime, and you may resume your normal activities immediately after the procedure.  For most patients, the Restylane® procedure takes less than one hour.  Dr. Toohey may recommend an initial treatment and a follow-up treatment in four to nine months.

Is Restylane® a Permanent Solution For Wrinkles and Folds?

Over time, your body breaks down the hyaluronic acid in Restylane®.  On average, the results of full correction last about 18 months.
